Helen McEntee has confirmed that any monetary assets seized by CAB in Longford will be diverted to a special Community Safety fund

Proceeds of crime seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau in Longford are set to be re-invested locally as part of the new pilot policing scheme in the county.

The new community policing model was launched late last year by the Justice Minister, in a bid to develop closer links with groups to tackle criminal and anti-social issues.

The scheme in Longford is due to get underway later this year and will eventually replace the current Joint Policing Committee model.
