Power restored to majority of local homes, businesses and farms

Power has been restored to the majority of premises impacted by heavy snow overnight.

Several Thousand people across the region were left without power this morning, with ESB Crews tackling outages from first light.

The latest update from the electricity supplier states power has been restored to most premises "following restoration work by ESB Networks crews".

Several hundred homes, farms and businesses remain without power this evening, with ESB Networks hopeful that supply will be restored by tonight.
