Post-mortems due after two bodies discovered in Dublin

The outcomes of a post-mortem examination will determine the course of Garda investigations into both deaths.

An investigation's underway following the deaths of a mother and her infant son at a house in West Dublin.

The two bodies were discovered in the Beechfield area of Clonee yesterday.

Post mortems are due to be carried out to establish cause of death - but Gardaí say they're currently treating the incident as a family tragedy.

Two bodies were discovered shortly after 3pm yesterday afternoon.

A woman in her 40s and a baby boy were discovered inside the house in the Beechfield housing estate.

They were both pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A Garda Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to liaise with the family.

The outcomes of a post-mortem examinations will determine the course Garda investigations into both deaths.
