It's hoped the visit of the Polish Ambassador to Longford this week can help develop even closer ties with the immigrant community across the county.
Anna Sochanska met members of the Polish community as well as Ukrainian refugees living in Longford town at a special event in the Temperance Hall on Wednesday afternoon.
She was also given a tour of St Mel's Cathedral and it's understood work is ongoing to develop a project supported by the Council and the Polish Embassy which will be launched later this year.
