Planning permission is being sought for the construction of a 30 metre communications tower in a south Longford Community.
Vantage Towers Ltd have submitted an application to Longford County council for the construction of the infrastructure at Castlewilder near Abbeyshrule.
Plans include the construction of a 30 metre lattice tower designed to hold antennae, dishes and other associated telecommunications equipment.

The application states that the site would be enclosed by security fencing and an extension would be added to the existing track.
The site itself is also located within the curtilage of a protected structure.
