Planning permission has been lodged for the establishment of a Veterinary Clinical Laboratory in Roscommon.
John Gilmore has submitted the application to Roscommon County Council for the lab to be developed in Elphin.
Veterinary Clinical Laboratories generally provide animal testing and diagnostic services to veterinarians.

Plans include the change of use of the former Elphin Engineering Works to the modular clinical laboratory and the demolition of an existing derelict storage shed.
According to the application, an extension is also sought for the warehouse at the rear of the engineering works building.
County planners will decide on the issue in July.
