Planning is being sought for the construction of three apartment blocks totaling 40 units.

Plans are being sought for a significant new housing development in Athlone.

Tom Donohue is seeking to construct three apartment blocks totalling 40 new units at Arcadin, Arcadia in Clonbrusk.

An application submitted to Westmeath County Council is contains details of three 3 storey buildings together with all associated site works, car parking and storage.

Block E1 would include 8 two bedroom appartments on the ground floor level with private gardens to the rear, with another 8 three bed duplex units over floors 2 and 3.

Blocks E2 and E3 would each see 6 two bed homes on ground floor with gardens and a further 6 duplex units across both upper floors.

The application is on a serviced site currently approved for permission for the construction of 86 additional apartments.

Westmeath County Council will decide on the issue in February.
