Close to 340 homes received planning permission in the Shannonside Region last year.
Figures from the 2022 Census show the number of houses and apartments granted permission in Leitrim, Longford and Roscommon over 12 months.
The majority of permissions were for the construction of houses as opposed to apartments.
137 houses in Roscommon and 4 apartments were awarded planning permission last year, the highest level in the region.
That's followed by Letirim where 109 houses including housing developments and once off housing successfully sought permission along with 3 apartments.
While in Longford, the county saw 7 apartments and 76 houses get the green light for construction.
Nationally, over 34,000 residential planning permissions were granted in 2022.
