Planning permission has been lodged for a new development at a well known Athlone Hotel.
Inua Athlone General Partner Limited are applying for works at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Northgate Street in the town.
Plans include the erection of a single storey, flat roofed external glazed function room that will extend off the hotel facade.

The room will consist of both fixed and openable glazed screens, with a retractable roof.
Change of use of an existing meeting room along the hotel terrace is also being sought in order to be transformed into a coffee dock and store.
The application will be decided on by Westmeath County Planners in April.
