Planning permission has been granted for the construction of a telecommunications mast in Leitrim. Eircom Ltd will erect a 24 metre high lattice telecommunications support structure at the Eircom Exchange in Dowra, Co. Leitrim. The structure will be supported by antennae, dishes, and associated telecommunications equipment. The plans also set out to remove an existing 18 metre high monopole telecommunications support structure.
The applicant asserts that the structure height and design proposed is necessary to provide improved service and coverage in the area. In the event of the structure being decommissioned, the developer shall remove the mast at their own expense. There were no third-party objections received against the proposed structure.
