Planning permission has been granted for an extension to well known supermarket in County Leitrim.
Aldi Stores has lodged an application with Leitrim planners to construct a single storey Deposit Return Scheme Kiosk in Carrick on Shannon.
The kiosk aims to encourage people to recycle drink containers by giving customers money back when they return containers to the retailer.

Local planners approved the application with four conditions attached.
One includes the payment of a developer charge of €435, while another rules that any surface water generated shall be handled by existing water disposal infrastructure.
