Longford County Council has given the go-ahead for the development of a new coffee shop/restaurant and takeaway facility on Killashee St in Longford Town.
The application from owners Joe and Bernadette Sheahan will see the old petrol station and shop formerly known as Kenny's Car and Tractor Accessories developed.
Works will see the partial demolition of the existing two storey and single-story buildings, as well as a rear storage, shed to be replaced with a new two storey building and an upgrade and extension to the residential dwelling.
Following receipt of further information on how the removal of the old petrol pumps would be environmentally managed and how a building next door would be affected, Longford County Council granted permission for the development this month.
Any appellants with concerns now have until January 1st to lodge an appeal.
