Longford County Council has received a planning application for the construction of a 81 metre wind energy converter tower near Edgeworthstown.Natural Forces Renewable Energy Ltd are seeking to build the tower with a blade tip height of close to 150 metres at Lissanore in Longford.
Plans include the installation of underground circuit cables connecting to a single story substation building on the site, the erection of stock proof fencing and an internal site access track.The tower would be capable of generating 4.2 megawatts of energy.Longford County Planners will decide on the matter in June.
