Gardaí have confirmed that an investigation is underway in Leitrim Village after the death of a woman there this morning.
Officials are investigating the sudden death of a woman in her 30s which occurred near the public Leitrim Village Marina at approximately 5.50am.
In a statement to Shannonside Northern Sound, Gardaí say the local coroner has been notified and a post mortem is due to take place tomorrow; the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.

Waterways Ireland has confirmed that a fatal incident occurred this morning at the public moorings and that they are currently closed.
Other moorings are available below the bridge in the village at Lock 16.
