Planning permissions being sought for the expansion of a well known private hospital in the Shannonside Region.
Charter Medical Private Hospital is a 77-bed facility that offers diagnostic, treatment, and surgical services from its base in Mullingar.
Plans submitted to Westmeath County Council seek the construction of a new 54 bed extension to the hospital at Ballinderry.
The designs show a three storey structure containing the new beds part built over a basement to the rear of the existing building.
A separate planning application has been lodged calling for the retention permission of a new first floor within existing Chapel building, the change of use of the chapel to ground floor and first floor day wards.
Westmeath County Planners will decide on the application in August.
