Permission sought for 30 metre telecommunications pole in Athlone

Plans have been submitted for the construction of a 30 metre high telecommunications pole on the Roscommon road in Athlone.

Vantage Towers Ltd is seeking the permission for the structure at Sean White Car Sales Ltd in the town.

The support structure will hold antennas, dishes and other telecommunications equipment in an enclosed security enclosure.

County planners are due to make their decision at the end of October.
