Permission has been granted for a well known Leitrim Guest house to construct new accessible accommodation.
Gowna Hospitality Ltd trading as Heartlands had applied for the permission for the Ciuin Guest House at the Paddocks, Lisnabrack in Carrick on Shannon.
Works called for a detached two story building comprising of 3 three bedroom accessible family pods along with a detached single storey recreational building.
As part of the submitted plans, the single storey building is designed to hold a games room, sensory room, administration office and hot tub area.
Also included in the application is sensory garden.
The plan was the subject of several submissions from local residents who raised concerns over the possible over development of the site, boundary issues and water main capacity.
County planners green lit the project with 13 conditions attached including a provision requiring the three family pods to be used for short term letting only.
