Uisce Éireann is calling on customers in south Leitrim to conserve water as demand rises during the warm weather.
The water body says levels across national treated water reservoirs are historically low.
While no restrictions are currently in place across the region, the water utility is reminding customers supplied by the South Leitrim Water Supply Scheme to reduce their usage in the coming days.
It's saying there's been a noticeable increase in water use across Carrick-on-Shannon, Ballinamore, Keshcarrigan, Drumshanbo, Mohill, Carrigallen, Dromod, and Roosky.
It's warning the level of demand is placing pressure on the treatment process, which means tested water is being used more quickly than it can be produced and stored in local reservoirs.
Uisce Éireann is offering tips to households, encouraging people to drop the hose, turn off the tap, and take short showers instead of a bath.
It's also asking farmers to be vigilant on their farms and to fix any leaking or knocked over troughs, to ensure a consistent supply for all.
