Overcrowding levels at local hospitals ease in recent days

University Hospital Galway is recording the highest number of people on trolleys locally.

Patient levels at hospital's across the Shannonside region have dropped this week following severe overcrowding in the last number of days.

93 people are currently on trolleys or are waiting on a bed else where in local hospitals.

UHG is reporting high waiting times with 55 people awaiting a bed as of this morning.

Patient levels in Sligo University Hospital, while still high are down on last week, with 27 on trolleys or waiting in wards.

Portiuncula Hospital in Balinasloe has 7 people waiting today.

Meanwhile the Midlands Regional Hospitals in Mullingar and Tullamore are reporting just two patients on trolleys each.
