Over €90,000 allocated between 11 local agricultural shows

Minister Heather Humphreys says the shows are key dates in the summer calendar and are a central point for the agri-food industry, the farming community and our local artisan producers.

Over 90,000 euro has been allocated amongst 11 agricultural shows in the Shannonside region.

The funding boost by the Department of Rural and Community Development sees a €1 million investment in agri events across the country.

Roscommon received the highest amount locally at 41,480 euro which is divided between 5 shows.

8,525 euro has been allocated to Castlerea, Elphin and Roscommon show, with 6,700 euro for Boyle and 9,200 euro for Strokestown.

A boost of 6,700 euro has been given to Balinalee Pony Show, 8,525 has been given to Granard Show Society while Longford show benefits from 9,205.

In Leitrim, Ballinamore, Mohill and Manorhamilton will each receive €8,525.
