Over €170,000 has been awarded to the Shannonside region for the development of forest parks, walking trails and outdoor amenities.
The funds are part of a 3 million euro grant from the Department of Rural and Community Development.
The aim of the supports is to deliver upgrades and improvements to facilities on Coillte lands including amenities in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon.

Roscommon has received the main share of the funds with close to €140,000 going towards 9 projects including Mote Park and Lough Key Forest Park.
Leitrim has been awarded €22,464 , while Longford received just €6,912 for four projects.
