Over 40 people have been convicted of drink driving offences across the Shannonside region in the first five months of this year.
Freedom of Information figures released to Shannonside FM by the courts service reveal Longford District Court saw the highest number of people convicted from January 1st to May 31st at 19
In Roscommon a total of 15 people were found guilty in the same period with seven in the county town, four in Castlerea, and a further four in Strokestown.

No convictions were brought forward at Ballaghadereen District Court in the first five months of the year.
Carrick-on-Shannon district court convicted a total of seven people while three motorists were found guilty of driving while intoxicated in Manorhamilton.
