There are currently over 30 vacancies within Roscommon Mental Health Services, according the HSE.
The figure was confirmed at February's Regional Health Forum West following a question from Cllr Tony Ward. HSE Chief Officer John Fitzmaurice said there was currently a staffing complement of 173 Whole Time Equivalents (WTE) within the local service. However, he added that there were 30.5 WTE vacancies but that every effort was being made to fill these through the use of cross cover, locum cover and approved overtime. The Chief Officer said the HSE was currently in the process of recruiting to these positions.
