Over 2,000 Ukranian refugees now living in Shannonside region

More than half of the refugees in this region are living in County Leitrim.

Over half of Ukrainians who've arrived in the Shannonside region now live in Leitrim.

It comes as figures show over two-thousand Ukrainians now live across Longford, Leitrim, and Roscommon.

The figures from the CSO shows the number of Ukrainian nationals living in counties across the Shannonside region based on the number of PPS numbers allocated.

Leitrim continues to house the most Ukrainians in the region, with 1-thousand and 84 currently living in the county. 609 of those are in the Ballinamore M.D, 286 in Carrick-On-Shannon, and 189 in the Manorhamilton M.D.

Roscommon experienced the largest increase in the number of Ukrainians arriving, welcoming 118 more between September and November. 334 reside in the Boyle M.D, 282 in Roscommonand just 17 in Athlone, but 661 are in Athlone, Westmeath.

418 Ukrainians are now living in Longford with 166 in the Longford M.D, 145 in the Ballymahon M.D and 107 in Granard.

Over 62 thousand Ukrainians have arrived in Ireland since the beginning of the conflict.
