Over 172 million spent on new school facilities in the region since 2020

Over 172 million euro has been spent on new school buildings and refurbishment projects in the Shannonside Northern Sound Region since 2020. The figures were revealed as part of a parliamentary question by Deputy Jim O'Callaghan and breakdown expenditure by county. Cavan and Monaghan recorded the highest amount locally with 60 million and 47 million euro respectively channeled into School building projects,

That's followed by 33 million euro in Roscommon, 23 million euro in Longford and just 7 million in Leitrim. Projects include the provision of SEN units, energy retrofits and new classrooms.
