Over 150 Covid cases recorded in local region during early June

Over 150 Covid cases were recorded in the Shannonside region in the second week of this month.

Details released by the Health Surveillance Protection Service reveal that between the 5th and 11th of June, there were 6,839 new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported.

79 cases were recorded in Roscommon, 50 in Longford and 28 in Leitrim.

The median age of those contracting Covid is 45 years old- while Limerick had the Covid incidence rate at 204 cases per 100,000 population.
