Over 100,000 overnight stays booked in local Airbnbs last year

Over 100,000 nights were booked at Airbnb's across the Shannonside Northern Sound region in 2022.

Research funded by the short stay accommodation giant claims they are worth over 14 million euro to the local economy.

Leitrim recorded 44,000 guest nights over the 12 months, with Roscommon slightly behind at 42,000.

Cavan comes next in the research with Airbnb users booking 26,000 nights in total in the county, while 18,000 were reserved in Monaghan.

Meanwhile, the total number of guest nights booked on Airbnb in Longford amounted to 13,000 over night stays.

The New Oxford Economics report found Airbnb also supported over 200 jobs across the region.
