Organ Donor Awareness Week 2021 begins today

Longford County Council is to light up green this weekend in order to celebrate Organ Donor Awareness Week 2021.

Council buildings on Water Street along with other locations around Longford will go green until the 3rd of April in order to support the Irish Kidney Association initiative.

This year over 30 county and city council locations around the country will light up public sites in green to highlight the message of hope that organ donation encapsulates.

Chief Executive of Longford council, Paddy Mahon, say's he hopes the campaign will generate lots of awareness and important conversations around people’s wishes.
