Kameko trained by Andrew Balding and ridden by Oisin Murphy has landed the first classic of the flat season, the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.

Kameko swooped late to deny Frankie Dettori on the Irish raider Wichita with the hot favourite Pinatubo only third having had every chance.

Sunday sees a second classic day in a row at Newmarket, and this time it's the turn of the Fillies in the 1000 Guineas.

15 horses go to post. The favourite is the unbeaten Quadrilateral, trained by Roger Charlton and the mount of Jason Watson.

Her closest market rivals are both trained in ireland. Love is trainer Aidan O'Brien's only runner in the race while Millisle represents Jessica Harrington.
