An objection has been lodged against a proposed battery storage facility in County Roscommon. Lough Allen Conservation Association lodged the objection with Roscommon County Council. The proposed development is on the site of the former Arigna ESB Power station.
In the application, Arigna LDES Limited sought planning permission to develop the battery storage system designed to provide system support services to the electricity grid at local townlands. It will also include the installation of 56 battery containers and medium voltage power stations. Roscommon County Planners are due to decide on the application on the 15th of February.
