Number of pre-schools in the region set to benefit from meals programme

It's part of around €4.2 million in funding nationally that will be provided to ensure that 25,000 pre-school children get a nutritious meal while attending early learning and care services in disadvantaged areas.

A number of pre-schools in the Shannonside region are to benefit from the newly launched Bia Blasta nutrition programme. It's part of around €4.2 million in funding nationally that will be provided to ensure that 25,000 pre-school children get a nutritious meal while attending early learning and care services in disadvantaged areas. Recipients in Longford include, Granard Community Childcare Facility and Springlawn Community Childcare.

Mohill Afterschool is among the Leitrim recipients. While in Roscommon, Tír na nÓg Preschool and Toddle Inn are just some of those who will avail of funding. Local Senator, Gareth Scahill says it's a positive development for local children:
