The number of burglaries across the Shannonside region increased between 2021 and 2022.
New figures released by Phonewatch Ireland show the Roscommon/Longford area saw one of the largest increases nationally.
The new report by Phonewatch Ireland breaks down the percentage change in the number of burglaries reported between 2021 and 2022. According to the breakdown, every garda division except 3 experienced an increase in robberies last year.
The Roscommon/Longford division reported a 47% increase between 2021 and last year. Westmeath experienced a 31% increase while the Sligo/Leitrim division reported the largest decrease nationally at 20%.
The report also found that 3 out of every 4 homeowners are concerned about being burgled and that 1 in every 10 homes has been burgled in the last decade.
