The Chairperson of Strokestown Town Team says todays funding announcement will help the town prepare for a new era when the N5 by-pass comes into being.
Work on the new road between Ballaghaderreen and Scramogue in Roscommon is beginning shortly and this will see a major reduction in heavy traffic through the town in the coming years.
Shane Lynskey says the funding announced today will allow for them to plan the development of the town centre and make it more attractive for people to live in , and to visit.
