The network is calling on locals living with mental or physical health concerns, who are seeking to get into the work force, to attend an open day next week at their regional centres.

The open day will be held next Wednesday at 11am and will see more than 30 NLN centres across the country open their doors to the public.

Speaking to Let's Talk today, Assistant Area Manager for National Learning Network Sligo and Leitrim, Ciaran Harman says the work is incredibly satisfying:

It's fantastic and the testimonies we get from former students and the relationships they have with their instructors.

They continually update us with what's happening, where they're going, what their life experience has been and whats next.

One area I was thinking of recently was racing, when Rachel Blackmore had great success earlier this year.

Lo and behold, one of our students was there leading her horse out onto the parade ring.

She had done one of our horsemanship courses.
