An Oireachtas Committee meeting will take place today.

The operator of the National Lottery will tell an Oireachtas Committee today it has sought regulatory approval for a ‘must-be-won draw’.

It follows controversy after there has been no winner of the 19 million euro lotto jackpot for six months.

The head of Premier Lotteries Ireland will tell the Finance Committee it wants to ensure a long wait for a capped jackpot win cannot occur again.

Fine Gael TD and member of the Oireachtas Committee Bernard Durkan says the long wait isn't a good look for the lottery.
