A Carrick-on-Shannon woman has been reunited with a sum of money un-intentionally donated to a local charity shop.
The woman, who dropped in a pair of thermal socks to the CASA charity shop in Longford town, was unaware a substantial amount of money was hidden in the item.
Following an appeal on the Joe Finnegan show yesterday, Gardai reunited the money with the rightful owner in Co. Leitrim.

Finder Evelyn is delighted the cash has been returned:
"If that lady is listening to this morning, Mary, I want to wish her well and I am so, so glad I got the money back to her and I want to thanks to the guards."
