Multi-million euro extension announced for Roscommon school

A Roscommon Secondary school has been given the green light for a new multi-million euro expansion.

CBS Roscommon in the county town has been granted the funds under the additional school accommodation scheme.

Under the plans, the school will gain a new music room, new graphics room and a science lab.

Also to be provided is a new engineering and tech room along tech prep room and a home economics room.

It's planned that the expansion will also feature two special educational needs bases at the Roscommon town campus.

Local Senator Eugene Murphy says it's fantastic news for pupils and teachers alike.
