A local mountain rescue team is appealing to the public to remain cautious when hillwalking over the festive period.
The message comes from the Leitrim/Sligo branch who attended 14 call-outs in 2022 which is above average on recent years.
Rescue member Henry Doherty says covid lockdowns and staycations have encouraged locals to explore walkways and trails which has also resulted in more incidents.
