Mostrim produced the shock of the Longford Championship as they marched into the semi-final’s knocking out Abbeylara.
Mostrim scored a surprise point seven point victory, 1-14 to 10 points and advance to a semi-final meeting with defending champions Killoe.
Mostrim led by a point at half-time, Darragh Doherty (2f), Padraig Joyce, Cillian Lynch, Alan O’Hara, Seamus Hannon and a Tiernan Hussey mark saw Mostrim lead seven points to six.
Mostrim extended their lead to three by the second water break as they led 13 points to eight, a Nigel Rabbittee free had pulled it back to a four point game.
Mostrim though caused the surprise when Padraig Joyce’s goal but it out of reach of Abbeylara with Joyce adding a glory point to seal the 1-14 to 10 point win and a semi-final meeting with Killoe.
