Over €312,000 has been awarded in compensation for personal injuries resulting from 47 farm accidents in the Shannonside region over the past six years.
The Injuries Resolution Board report on personal injury claims from farming accidents shows the median award for claims nationally was almost 35 thousand euro.
22 claims were made in Roscommon between 2019 and 2024, totalling just shy of €162,000.

13 and 12 claims were made in Longford and Leitrim, respectively.
However, Leitrim’s total compensation of over €107,000 were more than double Longford’s €42,800.
