A Leitrim student has received a special award for her entry into this year's BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition.
Sarah O'Beirne from Mohill Community College explored the question, can wind turbines be made eco-friendly and more cost effective?
The Transition Year student received her Greencoat Renewables plc award this afternoon.
In Roscommon Scoil Mhuire Strokestown, Roscommon Community College and Castlerea Community School were all highly commended.
In Leitrim Carrick-on-Shannon Community School were also highly commended with St. Louis Secondary School, Monaghan taking home the same award.
In Cavan ,St. Patricks College took home the Best Display accolade.
Speaking to Let's Talk earlier today, Leitrim winner Sarah O'Beirne said a career in science could be on the cards.
