Minister Heather Humphreys will formally launch the initiatives.

A number of Community organisations and amenities across Longford will be officially opened today.

Minister for Rural and Community Development and Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys will formally launch the initiatives.

The Yard Co-working Hub in Abbeyshrule, The Ardagh remote working hub, the Newtownforbes Bog walk and Cullyfad's new Community Play Area will all have the ribbon at a series of events throughout the day.

Minister Humphreys will also meet with staff from Longford's Department of Social Welfare offices, one of the country's main offices for a number of social welfare schemes.

The Cavan/Monaghan TD and Minister is pleased to see the project has transformed a variety of derelict buildings into enterprise hubs:

'I am delighted to be in Longford today to offically open the yard hub project in AbbeyShrule which received more than eight hundred and forty thousand euro from my department of rural and community development. This really is a stunning project and it has regenerated a number of building along the Royal Canal Greenway which have been derelict for many years and the beautiful new development it provides space for local enterprises, hot desk facilities for workers and of course a peaceful courtyard area.'
