The Enterprise Minister has confirmed an independent review has found no evidence that Aughinish Alumina breached EU sanctions through exports to Russia.
Its findings have now been sent to the European Commission.
The review follows reports of exports of alumina from the plant on the Shannon Estuary, Co Limerick being used to supply Russian weapons manufacturers.
In a statement released this morning, Enterprise Minister Peter Burke says the review found no evidence to support allegations.
The investigation examined claims first raised in media reports and included consultations with authorities in Ireland, Sweden and Ukraine, as well as the company itself.
Minister Burke says while the Department could not verify the company's assertion that its alumina is used only for civilian exports, it also found no evidence to substantiate the allegations.
He has also outlined that the Government will continue to monitor any new information and work with the European Commission and international partners to enforce sanctions against Russia.
