Mean Scoil Mhuire in Longford town has closed today following a confirmed case of Covid-19 in the school.

All children and staff identified as close contacts have been informed and were sent home from the school immediately after receipt of guidance from Public Health.

However, the school says that excluding all close contacts has caused significant staff shortages so it has made the decision to close the school.
