Two men remain in Garda custody following a fatal assault in Athlone over the weekend.
One man in his 30s, who is believed to be from County Roscommon, and a 19-year - old man believed to be from Athlone, were arrested following the death of Paul 'Babs' Connolly in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 48-year-old from Edenderry in Offaly died after an assault on Church Street at around 2.30am.

A post-mortem took place yesterday at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe and the nature of the Garda investigation will be determined by the results.
The two men who were arrested are being questioned at Athlone Garda Station.
