Gardai are urging the public to be vigilant after a number of recent incidents of people pretending to be members of An Garda Siochana.
Gardai in Leitirm are investigating an incident in Drumsna last Friday morning when a man called to the home of an elderly man in the Drumsna area claiming that he was a Garda.
He was allowed into the house and made away with a sum of cash.
A second man remained nearby in a silver hatchback car.
The incident happened around half past nine on last Friday morning.
Gardai are advising not to allow people into the house if you are any way uncomfortable and lock your back door before answering the front door if you're not expecting anyone.
They also advise people to talk through a window if they feel in any way uncomfortable about the caller.
