A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Roscommon native Aidan Moffitt and 58-year-old Michael Snee in Sligo earlier this week.
Yousef Palani, with an address of 10, Markievicz Heights, appeared at Sligo District Court this afternoon.
The 22-year-old was arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning and had been questioned at Sligo Garda station for the last 24 hours in connection with the fatal assaults.

He has been charged with the murder of the 41-year old Lisacul native at his home in Cartron Heights, as well as the murder of the 58-year-old former health care assistant at his home in Connaughton Road.
He has also been charged with a section four assault on a man last Friday.

He appeared in court this afternoon wearing a grey tracksuit.
The court heard he replied to the murder charge of Michael Snee by saying that he understood what was being read to him by a Garda.
The court heard that an urgent psychiatric evaluation should be undertaken and he should be put on suicide watch.
He was granted free legal aid.
He has been remanded in custody to Castlerea Prison to appear in court again on April 21st next at Sligo District Court.
