Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe was shot dead during the incident.

A man's been charged with a robbery at a credit union in Co Louth over eight years ago, during which a garda was killed.

The man in his 30s was arrested this morning and is due in Dundalk District Court later today.

The robbery took place at Lordship Credit Union in Bellurgan in January 2013.

A second person was also arrested this morning in London, in connection with the same incident.

Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe was shot dead during the incident, and Aaron Brady, from New Road, Crossmaglen, Co Armagh, was convicted of his murder last October.
