A man in his late 30s is due in court this morning following an alleged arson incident in Clondra earlier this week.
Detectives in Longford are investigating after a car was damaged by fire in the Mills area of the village between 5am and 6am on Thursday morning.
Searches were carried out yesterday and a 38-year-old man was subsequently arrested and brought to Longford Garda station for questioning.

He was later charged with arson and is due to appear in Mullingar district court this morning.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the Clondra area between 5am and 6am on Thursday the 25th and who may have seen anything suspicious to contact them at 043-3350570.
