A man jailed for attacking three women he met on Tinder has been re-sentenced, after the Court of Appeal found his original sentence was too lenient.
38-year-old Patrick Nevin was initially given 14 years for rape and 8 years for sexual assault, to run concurrently, with the last two years suspended.
The DPP appealed this, and it's been increased by two and a half years.
Patrick Nevin pleaded guilty to raping one woman at Bellewstown, Co Meath on 12 July 2014, and to sexual assault of another woman four days later.
The Court of Appeal hearing, which was held via videolink, concluded 12 years for both offences was too low.
His sentence has been increased to 18 years, with the final 3 and a half suspended, meaning he'll serve 14 and a half years.
He's already serving five and a half years for the sexual assault of a third woman at UCD on July 23rd 2014.
